Jan's Gallery

Jan Carroll, a long term Shutterfreak, died December 22at her home in Glenmoore, PA, after battling lung cancer for many months. She was in the loving care of her husband Steve Askew and her sister Jill Carroll. Her dog Kate was also at her side without fail.

Jan was loved by extended family and many friends whose lives she touched in so many ways. Steve said that Jan was thrilled to be part of the community of ShutterFreaks.

Even though Jan downplayed the artistry of her photographs, everyone who saw them felt connected to her world. Her eye speaks for itself. A singular point of view. The composition, the angle and often, the otherwise unseen. She took as much pleasure in nurturing the flora and fauna that she eventually photographed.

The first photo is of Jan and her husband Steve and two of the many dogs they cared for over the years.

Jan will be missed from our group.
