Spot Cleaning is handy when you want to remove noise or grain from only certain areas of the photo.
Here's a photo that's showing a lot of noise on the red truck.

When you run Mode 4, there is no visible change to the photo. However, the action has done quite a bit:
- Created a new layer
- Created a mask (the black rectangle you see here)
- It has "cleaned" the top layer. The effect will not be visible until you "erase" part of the mask.

The Eraser Tool will automatically be selected.
Just adjust the size of the eraser tool brush as you need it, and start "erasing," keeping away from edge detail.
A flow setting of
around 8-22 on the eraser tool is good for detailed areas. Large areas such as the sky can be set at 100%.
As you erase, the mask will show white areas, and the noise will start to disappear from the area
of the photo you are working on.
If you erase too much, you can just swap the foreground and background colors in the Tools window,
and then use the Eraser Tool to "un-erase" the area.

After cleanup, select Layer/Flatten Image from the main menu.
