Sreesakaya Munee Procession

I was invited to capture the Seesakayamunee procession in Patan,Kathmandu during Visakabucha day ,in which Nepali Buddhist get together to celebrate the lord of Buddha day by declaring their Buddhism status. The procession involving more than 30,000 people, most of them were ladies from each villages wearing their villages saree colors ,walk and pray Buddhism song along the norrow road for five kilometers.
We plan our photo capturing by survey the site and even asked for permission to be on the roof top of Patan neighbourhood to be able to capture the procession line against the historical site of Patan Hindu temple .However the most talent work will be moving along the procession line and try to find most interesting subject as foreground to interact with the procession stories.
At the end of the day, we were burnt but done the best to record this historical moment which will only happen again in the next fifteen years.
Most of these work will be publishing as YMBA -Nepal book for Nepali Buddhist school and their scholarship during the next November 2008 /IBYE-Tokyo conference.
Thanks for viewing them and comments will be more than welcome.

Crop tight of the Patan Palace with medium tele-70-200 ,also give stronger impact than wide angle because of the bad lighting around noon.
