I think its a perfectly reasonable image and the verse adds to the image.

Why do so many people choose to make fun of the Bible, which is God's Word? This makes me sad. You know, our nation began because people wanted to worship God freely, so our nation is based on the Bible. Please, don't make fun of God's Word. Or God
