The photo matte actions are designed to create a matte or frame from the photo itself. They will work in Photoshop 6.0 and later. Here are some of the mattes you can make: Darkened and Half-Darkened Mattes Lightened Mattes Normal Mattes Complex Mattes

The actions are provided in both full-sized and web-sized versions.

Darkened Matte You select the area that will appear inside the matte. As you see, you can make an asymmetric matte if you want. The Half-Darkened Matte is similar, but not quite as dark.

Normal Matte
Complex Mattes Your selections are not limited to simple rectangles: you can make them more complex.
