Current Version: 01.04

How can I tell if I already have the latest version?

If you purchased an earlier version of my Special Chiseled Mat Actions and would like the latest version, I would be happy to send it to you at no charge.

Major changes are listed below.

History of Major Changes

Version 01.04 (02/29/2008)

  1. Added the "ExtraWide" actions, which allow the creation of custom-size and asymmetrical mats.

  2. Corrected the spelling of "mats."

Version 01.03 (12/17/2004)

  1. Removed redundant steps to make the actions run faster.

  2. Changed opacity of inner stroke to 50% for light mats.

  3. Minor changes to copyright notice.

Version 01.02 (03/22/2004)

  1. To allow Photoshop CS users to keep their images in 16-bit mode, and to allow more flexibility for all users, I removed the steps that change the image to 8-bit mode and RGB modes.

This means that if your image is in indexed color mode or multi-channel mode, you will need to change it to RGB, Grayscale, Lab, or CMYK mode before running the actions.

In addition, if you are using Photoshop 6 or 7, and your image is in 16-bit mode, you will need to change it to 8-bit mode before running the actions. 16-bit mode works fine for Photoshop CS.

  2. Updated the Copyright statement.

  3. Minor changes to the ReadMe file.

Version 01.01 (12/05/2003)

  1. Simplified channel usage, reusing channels rather that deleting them and creating new channels. This results in fewer steps, speeding up the actions slightly.
  2. Mats that require a little extra space at the bottom now use new "AddBottomSpace" actions.
  3. Canvas expansions no longer use 100% for width. This works around an oddity in Photoshop that under certain conditions results in large increases in width rather than leaving them unchanged.
Version 01.00 (07/20/2003)

  1. Initial Release.
